The Process

The process for creating a website does not need to be made complicated and we can work with you and your team from initial steps, right through to supporting you once the website is live.

The priorities and timescales for Cathedrals can vary so we will work with you for your own custom project plan.

Below is what the process will usually look like.

1) Contact Church Edit

Get in touch to discuss your website project - we can answer any questions you have and show you how Church Edit works.

ticks2) Give us the go ahead

Once you are ready we can start creating your website and will setup a site for you to then have access to for adding content.

Design - We will schedule time for you to speak to a designer who will then lead the design aspect of the site ensuring that you have a high quality and professionally looking website that you can be proud of.

Content - the process of adding content to your website varies greatly from Cathedral to Cathedral. Some use this as an exercise to refresh the content and not migrate some of the older pages that are no longer relevant whereas others want all content from the current site moved to the new one.

We will always advise on the migration of content but can also provide content migration services (either manually or by exporting from your current website database) - these costs vary and we can provided a quote for this if required.

At the end of each overview meeting, your Church Edit project manager will always arrange a followup meeting with you and this can be as frequent as you require it.

3) Applying the website design

Once the design has been signed off by your team then it will be applied to your website.

4) Website goes live

Once you are ready for your website to go live then we can work with your current domain provider to put your new site live on your existing website address.

5) Ongoing support

With the site now live, we are still there to support you. You can contact our friendly team for help by email and by telephone (get straight through to a human being between 8:30 and 5:00 for instant support).

6) Quarterly Cathedral Meetings

The Quarterly Cathedral Meetings are for Cathedrals who use Church Edit or those who want to find out more. They are joined by Church Edit and include the National Cathedral Team as well.

These Quarterly Meetings are opportunities to:
